The 2018 harvest season for green beans took place this year in accordance with a fixed schedule: from 15th July, the official opening date, until the start of exports, scheduled three months after the start of the season, i.e. 15th October. The volumes of prepared beans, exported from Madagascar, are forecast to increase significantly for 2018, in excess of 1,800T, driven in particular by a sharp increase in American consumption of vanilla pods.
