The 2025 International Symposium on Green Chemistry (ISGC) brought together leading experts, researchers and industry professionals to discuss the future of sustainable chemistry. As one of the most significant global conferences in this field, ISGC plays a crucial role in advancing innovations that spur a positive environmental impact.
At MANE, we were proud to contribute to these discussions by sharing our expertise in sustainability and green chemistry in the following two sessions:
- Cyril Gallardo and Elodie Schaffner presented our collaborative work with L’Oréal, demonstrating how GREEN MOTION™ can offer a simplified yet accurate method for estimating the carbon footprint of fragrances. Our approach facilitates the assessment of Scope 3 emissions in the fragrance industry and other industrial applications.
- Mathilde Le Maréchal highlighted our work with IFRA and Beyond Benign to develop the IFRA Green Chemistry Compass, a new tool designed to standardise the evaluation of fragrance ingredients according to the 12 principles of green chemistry. Our comparative study of more than 80 ingredients confirmed that GREEN MOTION™ and this new tool were in alignment.
Both sessions sparked engaging discussions emphasising the importance of transparency, harmonisation and innovation in sustainability assessment. We were thrilled to see such a strong interest in practical tools that make green chemistry more accessible and actionable.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our presentations and engaged with us during the event! Your insights and questions fuel our commitment to keep pushing the boundaries of sustainable perfumery.
