LUXE PACK Shanghai 2023 took place on 12-13 April and was a resounding success. This year, MANE and creative design company Centdegrés jointly presented the 5S booth, offering attendees a fragrant, five-sense, immersive experience from Grasse to Shanghai.
S for South: The ancient perfume culture has been nurtured in numerous charming towns and areas throughout the South of France, each with its own unique natural conditions that attract noses and perfume lovers from around the world.
S for Stories about nature and people: Violets, roses, lavender, chamomile, jasmine, lemongrass, and orange blossom are just some of the iconic ingredients from this region. These fragrant gifts of nature have helped build the current status of the South of France as a perfume paradise.
S for Savoir-faire: Following the era of perfumed leather gloves in the 16th and 17th centuries, Grasse - this year's guest of honour - established its own perfume factory. Grasse's expertise in all aspects of perfumery, including the cultivation of perfume plants, the knowledge and processing of natural raw materials, and the art of perfume blending, has been recognised and included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List since 2018.
S for Scents: Here, plants and flowers have the remarkable ability to absorb the perfect blend of natural nutrition and essence. This process results in the creation of precious raw materials that are infused with the power of the sun. These incredible treasures have been passed down to us through centuries, and their value is immeasurable.
S for Senses: MANE’s perfumers drew inspiration from the South of France and the Côte d'Azur. They carefully created five fragrances – Taste Cannes, Hear Nice, Smell Grasse, See Menton, and Touch Monaco – each corresponding to one of five unique cities. 5S was the culmination of a deep exploration into the fragrance culture of the region.
During the round-table seminar of the exhibition, Mr Shi Yunyi, Fine Fragrances Category Director for MANE China, gave a speech. He provided insight into current research and development opportunities for Chinese local perfume brands against the backdrop of a growing ‘scent economy’ or the rising consumer demand in China for fragrances and scented products.
MANE’s immersive 5S exhibit at LUXE PACK Shanghai 2023 provided a truly rich sensory experience engaging all five senses. Guests basked in the warm, sun-filled atmosphere of Grasse and the South of France, surrounding themselves with the aroma of exquisite perfumes and letting their senses guide them on a journey of exploration and discovery.
