Unesco

The UNESCO committee in charge of safeguarding the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity selected the savoir-faire related to Perfumery in the Pays de Grasse to join the list which aims to preserve the world’s most precious traditions.
This World Heritage status comes as an official recognition of the craftsmanship of all stakeholders of the Perfumery Industry who have sustained and developed their expertise in the area of Grasse, world capital of Perfume. The application process was initiated over ten years ago by the Cultural Heritage Association of the Pays de Grasse, with the sponsorship of local plant producers, raw material experts, fragrance houses and of course perfumers.

As the first French group of the Fragrance and Flavour industry, headquartered in Bar-sur-Loup and deeply rooted in the terroir of the Pays de Grasse, where we have continuously sourced and transformed local raw materials into iconic perfumery ingredients and compounded them into creative scents since 1871, MANE is proud to have joined the association’s claim.

Thank you to all participants who have supported the process to recognize the artistry of Perfumery in the Pays de Grasse as word heritage.
