On 12 June 2023, the grand opening ceremony for MANE China’s new factory was held in Pinghu, Zhejiang, China. The new plant is one of MANE’s largest production bases worldwide and will provide a strong impetus for the development of the flavours market in China and surrounding regions.

Covering over 67,000 square meters, the new factory was designed with an annual production capacity of 15,600 tons and is expected to reach full production by the end of the year. The plant is projected to generate a production value of 220 million RMB (€28 million) in its first year and an annual output value of 700 million RMB (€90 million) once it reaches full capacity.

Many distinguished attendees extolled the new factory opening. In his opening speech, Jean Mane, MANE Group President stated: "MANE is a family-owned company driven by technology and focused on customer satisfaction. The newly opened factory in Pinghu is guided by cutting-edge technology and environmental protection and represents a significant step in solidifying MANE’s position as a strategic partner in China."

For CCI France Chine General Manager Caroline Penard, "this new factory built in Pinghu is a shining example of the immense potential of Sino-French collaboration, symbolising the convergence of professional knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit from both countries".

Finally, Chen Huigang from Pinghu Economic-Technological Development Zone expressed the full support of the Pinghu government: “The Pinghu Economic-Technological Development Zone will continue to care for and support the development of MANE. We will continuously improve the quality of our services and strive to create an optimal environment for business development.”

The ceremony also featured a Caiqing performance by a lion dance troupe. In addition to providing entertainment, ‘Caiqing’ has a similar pronunciation to ‘capturing fortune’ in Chinese. It therefore symbolises good fortune and wealth, which extends to the newly minted Pinghu factory.

Following the conclusion of the ceremony, the MANE Pinghu team accompanied Pinghu government representatives and MANE business partners on a tour of the premises.

By establishing this large-scale and technologically advanced production base in Pinghu, China, MANE China is better positioned to meet the demands of the Chinese market while continuing to provide high-quality products. The opening of this new factory boosts MANE’s potential for further development in China and strengthens its position as a leader in the global flavours and fragrances industry.

MANE employees attending the opening ceremony included Jean Mane, MANE Group President; Bernard Leynaud, MANE Asia Pacific Director, Denis Raffaud, MANE China Managing Director; Jean-Marc Leyrit, MANE International Projects and Technological Solutions Manager; and WANG Cuiyan, MANE China Industrial Director and business partners. Distinguished external attendees included He Miao, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Pinghu City Committee, Secretary of the Party Work Committee of Pinghu Economic-Technological Development Zone; Chen Huigang, Director of the Administration Committee of Pinghu Economic-Technological Development Zone; and Caroline Penard, General Manager of CCI France Chine.
