UN prize winners visit MANE NYC

On September 18, MANE New York welcomed a group of international guests, all winners of the United Nations Equator Prize. This year’s Equator Prize winners included the FETRIPH (Federation of Indigenous Peoples of Honduras), representing the APARFSS, a cooperative of Pech tribes from whom MANE purchases crude filtered Liquidambar (styrax) gum. Because of MANE’s personal connection to the Pech, all of the winners were invited to visit our New York Creative Center, to take a tour, and to receive a fragrance created especially for the occasion by Ralf Schwieger. With styrax essence at its heart, the fragrance—called Voile d’Ambre--was presented in our Powerbreeze technology.

The Equator Prize is awarded annually by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to international indigenous communities who are advancing local, nature-based sustainable development solutions for tackling poverty, environment, and climate challenges. Our esteemed guests came from Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Belize, Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mali and Thailand and were honored at a celebratory gala during the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in New York on Sunday night.
