The BRC (British Retail Consortium) certification is a prerequisite for any food manufacturer looking to export to the United Kingdom, protecting British consumers and setting high standards of food safety.
MANE's Sablé-sur-Sarthe plant is dedicated to the production of flavours, ingredients and additive blends for the meat, fish, ready meals and snack industries. The site has been ISO9001:2008 certified for the past 7 years.
The site was granted the BRC certification on January the 7th, 2013, following a 2-day audit. The certification body (CMI) highlighted the following points as particularly positive during the audit:
- Equipment used in the 2 productions units
- Knowledge and reactivity of production operators
-
Capability of the Quakity Assurance department
The plant is the third of the Group's French production sites to obtain the BRC certification: both Le Bar-sur-Loup (dedicated to the production of ingredients, fragrances and sweet flavours production) are already BRC version 5 standards certified. The successful certification of Sablé-sur-Sarthe enables MANE to offer its functional and aromatic blends to new countries where the BRC standard is a prerequisite, such as the UK and Ireland.
